It is with a great deal of disappointment that the club announces with immediate effect the resignation of Senior Assistant Coach Clint Williams.
Clint advised Senior Coach Peter Bastinac & Football Director Mark Hamilton of his decision on Monday afternoon. Clint told us the decision was driven by positive changes in both his personal life and a recent promotion at work, both of which will consume significantly more of his time Mark said. Naturally the timing is not ideal and we are disappointed to loose someone of Clint’s calibre, he has been great for us in the 16 months he was in the role.
However, we understand and respect Clint’s position and the decision, we are extremely happy for him Mark added.
Peter noted he thoroughly enjoyed working with Clint and said he had a massive impact on our playing list with his knowledge of today’s game. He leaves a big hole in our coaching team and l am sure the players will miss his insight and the positive input he provided them, l know he taught a lot of them many “little things” that added to their game.
Clint said whilst he looks forward to some of the exciting challenges that lay ahead he will miss his involvement in the Rowville FC.
It is a proud club with some great people and an outstanding young list, l know if they stick together and continue to work hard on various aspects of their games good things lay ahead. I knew the timing wasn’t going to be perfect but l also didn’t want to get closer to the start of the season and realise l couldn’t do the role in the manner it required or l expected, that wouldn’t be fair on anyone Clint said. I appreciate the manner in which “Bushy” (Peter) & “Hammer” (Mark) have dealt with my decision and this speaks volumes for how the club goes about things.
I still hope to get to a few games and cheer the boys on this season.
The club would sincerely like to thank Clint for his efforts and wish him every success in the next phase of his life, the search for a replacement will commence immediately.
