It was 22 years ago when long time sponsor Craig Kelly from LJ Hooker Rowville first got involved in the Rowville football Club following his brother Paul who had started playing 2 years earlier. They then played together for 3 years.

Having grown up in Wheelers Hill Craig (who is part owner of LJ Hooker Rowville) is married to his lovely wife of 12 years Karen, they have 4 daughters. They all love nothing more than getting away as a family especially up to their cabin in Echuca.

The Rowville FC connection with the family runs further with Karen’s brother Bryce Notman a former club favourite who played 150 for the club. Bryce was well known for his booming left foot and played in two premierships at Seebeck including the 2004 senior premiership team under club legend Paul Mynott.

LJ Hooker have been a loyal club sponsor for 15+ years and are synonymous with both the club and indeed within the local community, assisting many people buy and sell their homes. Craig himself has filled numerous roles in the club being on the committee and once filled the important role of club treasurer as well.

Craig told us , the club has become a lot more professional during his time and he is pleased to see it has achieved great success.

Personally he believes it’s great to see all the kids from our junior club developing and then wanting to come to our Senior football for the club. Craig went on to tell us “the club is like a big happy family to me”

I really have enjoyed the people I have met , there are so many great people at the club. A lot of these have been here 10 + years, and there is some real characters amongst these guys. People like Banga (Dave Healey), Tappa (Paul Rea), Keno (Jason Kennedy) , Reaby (Lee Reaby), Monster (Paul Mynott) , Moley (Jon Mole), Russ (Russell Walker), Brigham (Paul Brigham) and Hammer (Mark Hamilton) to name a few.

I am hoping that we make finals in division 1 this year, we have been close in the past few years. Off the field we have to keep trying hard to compete with the big Division 1 Clubs which is easier said than done, but l know people are all working as hard as they can across the club to achieve more success Craig shared .

I will continue to support the club as best l can, l want to get to as many games as possible. Of course l want to continue to build our L.J Hooker Rowville office and a chance to also enjoy more holidays with the family are high on his agenda in the near future.
