FROM A KNIGHT TO A HAWK

The Rowville Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Roach to the position of Assistant Coach of the 2016 Under 19 squad.

Michael brings extensive football knowledge to the role and will provide sound support to recently appointed 19’s coach Joel Kearney, this coupled with a strong knowledge of the local football talent and his strong personal values makes him a welcome addition to the RFC football coaching panel. After having played in the VFA (now VFL) competition for 14 years with the Oakleigh Football Club and coached a further 4 years at senior level, including 2 as a match day senior assistant coach of the Vermont football club.

Mike has coached junior football teams for 10 years, 3 years with the Berwick Football Club and 7 years with the St. Simons Football Club. During this time he has coached various age groups from under 9’s to under 17’s which he tells us he found extremely rewarding.

Rounding out his football contribution he has also held the role of “Football Operations” at the St. Simons Football Club for 3 years. Senior coach Peter Bastinac believes Mike’s values and views on football are very much in line with his and those of the club and believes Mike will be an asset to our overall football program.

Mike has told us he is really looking forward to working with Joel and the wider football department and he appreciates the opportunity to do so. On behalf of the entire Rowville Football Club we welcome Mike and his family into the club.
