Sean 50 & Robbo 100

Sean Alston will play his 100th Open Age Game for the Rowville Football Club at Seebeck on Saturday when when we take on Noble Park and Matt Robinson will play his 50th.

Two weeks ago the club travelled out to South Croydon with all 3 teams looking to be close games! It started off the the Under 19s suffering a heartbreaking loss with a South Croydon goal after the final siren. The Hawks looked to have the game won with a 5 goal lead going into the final term, but with 5 of the 6 rotation players unable to take the field in the final quarter, unfortunately the boys came up just short!
The Development Squad continued their impressive form with victory over South Croydon! At the first break it was the Hawks by 17 points, that margin was reduced to 11 at the main break. After half time the boys upped the tempo and increased the margin to 26 points going into the final term. The last quarter was all Rowville with the boys being dominant all over the ground running away 62 point winners. The development squad are playing a great brand of football at the moment that’s very watchable and we look forward to the coming weeks for this team!
The senior squad started well in this game to lead at the first break by 5 points. That margin increased to 11 at half time. The third term saw South Croydon throw everything at us to lead by 22 points at the final change. Coach Peter Bastinac made some positional changes at the break and emphasised to the playing group they were well in it, the Hawks responded to this but unfortunately went down by 5 points. With three of our four losses this season being by less than a kick proves that the club are defiantly on the right track with its development to becoming a major player in first division for years to come!
